BED MACHINING CENTRE FS

The bed machining centre is specified especially for chip machining of complicated shapes in manufacture of moulds, press tools, dies or of workpieces having very complicated shapes.

The machine parameters enable the FS to machine a broad range of materials, including alloy steels and light metal alloys.

The machine feature is represented by the fixed bed. The table moves on the bed in the longitudinal direction. The column is anchored in the machine foundation next to the bed. The bracket with the cross guideways for the headstock moves along the vertical guideways on the column. The machine is equipped with the horizontal headstock having the mechanism for automatic clamping of exchangeable spindle heads or with the headstock having the non‑exchangeable head available.

In its basic configuration, the machine is determined to work in the working area with the parameters given by the set of the combination of ambient condition classes IE 33, according to ČSN EN 60721-3-3:1997, A2:1998; however, the air temperature must range from +15 °C to +35 °C and the air pressure must be more than 90 kPa.

To reach the optimum working accuracy, the following conditions must be kept during machine work:

  • Ambient temperature within +17 °C up to +25 °C;
  • Change of ambient temperature during 24 hours less than 4 °C;
  • Ambient temperature change gradient less than 0,5 °C/hour

The machine can be made in the type execution having the headstock with the indexing B‑axis or with the continual B‑axis. If the machine has the continual B‑axis available, the column casting and the knee casting of grey cast iron are replaced by ribbed weldments. The reason is to keep the machine accuracy and rigidity.

If the machine has the headstock with the indexing B‑axis available, the column is a ribbed casting of grey cast iron.

If the machine has the headstock with the continual B‑axis available, the column is a rigid ribbed weldment which is filled with special concrete‑based mixture.

Both type executions are equipped with the strips of vertical linear guideways with bearing packs which are attached to the right side column wall. These guideways are specified for the knee with the headstock.
